Terms and Conditions

By placing an order, submitting payment, or engaging LaLa Tacos for catering services, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms govern deposits, payments, cancellations, service limitations, weather-related decisions, staffing, and other policies that apply to all events.

These Terms & Conditions are in effect prior to payment and apply regardless of whether services are ultimately rendered. These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by LaLa Tacos and supersede any prior discussions, emails, or informal agreements.


LaLa Tacos – Terms & Conditions

By placing an order, submitting payment, or using our quote calculator, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to all services provided by LaLa Tacos and supersede any prior discussions, emails, or informal agreements.

Communication, Changes & Subject Lines

All communication related to your order must be submitted in writing via email.

We do not accept changes via phone call, voicemail, or text message.

All change requests must be sent to:

Once a request is received, LaLa Tacos will reply with a written confirmation.

If you do not receive a confirmation, your change has not been processed. Clients are responsible for following up to ensure all changes are confirmed.

For any important or time-sensitive updates, include a clear, descriptive subject line so your message can be properly identified and prioritized.

Examples:

  • Important Update – Guest Count Change

  • Important – Service Time Change

  • Food Allergies

Requests or updates that are not clearly identified in the subject line may be missed or delayed and cannot be guaranteed to be addressed.

Booking & Deposits

Your event is not secured until a deposit is received.

A 25% deposit is required within one week of booking to secure your date.

Until a deposit is received, your event remains unconfirmed and availability may change.

Deposits are non-refundable under most circumstances.

Cancellations

Because staffing, preparation, and purchasing begin in advance:

  • Within 24 hours of the event: 100% of the total order

  • Within 72 hours of the event: 50% of the total order

  • More than 72 hours: Deposit is retained; no additional charges

Credits toward a future event may be offered at our discretion.

Service Timing & Delays

Service is scheduled based on the agreed-upon serve time provided at booking.

We provide a 30-minute grace period.

Delays beyond 30 minutes will be billed at:
$40 per employee, per 30-minute increment.

Our team prepares food based on the scheduled service time. Delays may impact food quality, as certain items are time-sensitive.

LaLa Tacos is not responsible for any decline in food quality due to delayed service start times.

Access, Setup & Parking

Clients are responsible for providing clear and unobstructed access to the service area.

For on-site catering, we require a parking space as close as reasonably possible for loading and unloading.

If access or parking is blocked:

  • Setup or breakdown may be delayed

  • Service time may be reduced

  • Additional labor charges may apply

For safety and operational reasons:

  • We do not move carts through residential interiors

  • We cannot navigate more than three steps

  • We cannot roll equipment over uneven surfaces such as gravel, steep inclines, or unstable ground

  • We cannot operate on steep hills or unsafe surfaces

If proper access is not available, setup location will be adjusted at our discretion to ensure safety and service quality.

Order Review & Service Type

When you receive your order or quote, you are responsible for reviewing it carefully to ensure all details are accurate, including service type, guest count, and menu selections.

LaLa Tacos will perform services exactly as outlined in your confirmed order.

Service Types

On-Site Catering
Our taco chef and team will prepare and serve tacos directly from our taco cart. A taco bar with toppings will be set up for self-service.

We do not provide servers for Taco Bars unless specifically arranged.

Delivery
We will deliver your order with the items included, such as:

  • Food in disposable containers

  • Plates, napkins, and serving utensils

  • Chafers (if included in your order)

No on-site cooking or guest service is included with delivery unless otherwise specified.

Buffet-Style Service
Buffet-style service, including staff serving guests from a buffet line, is provided only if specifically requested and clearly stated on your order.

If buffet service is not listed on your order, it is not included

Event Coordination & Direction

For events involving coordinators or planners, LaLa Tacos will take direction from the client of record.

If conflicting instructions are received, the client’s direction will take precedence.

We will not implement changes from coordinators without client approval.

Clients are strongly encouraged to be copied on all coordinator communication.

Order Changes

  • Reductions must be made at least 7 days prior to the event

  • Increases may be accepted up to 2–3 days prior, subject to availability

  • Changes within 7 days are not guaranteed

Pricing

Pricing is locked once an order is created.

Formal quotes that have not been converted into an order are subject to change.

Guest Count & Add-On Quantities


We are happy to provide guidance on recommended quantities based on your guest count; however, all final selections and quantities are the client’s responsibility. Add-on items such as guacamole, chips, and similar items are prepared based on the quantities ordered. Due to the self-serve nature of these items, guests often consume more than one portion, which may lead to faster depletion. LaLa Tacos cannot guarantee that add-on quantities will serve all guests unless ordered accordingly.

Portioning & Tray Presentation


All hot items are delivered in standard half-size aluminum catering trays for consistency and food quality. Portion sizes are based on the quantity ordered, not the tray size. For smaller orders, trays may not appear full; however, all items are prepared and portioned according to your order.

Private Rentals (Airbnb / Short-Term Rentals)

Clients are responsible for confirming that events are permitted at their venue.

If an event is restricted, shut down, or interrupted due to property rules, owner intervention, or local regulations:

No refunds or credits will be issued.

Certificate of Insurance (COI)

If a COI is required, you must notify us at least two (2) weeks prior to your event.

We require:

  • Legal name of certificate holder

  • Full legal address

COIs requested within two weeks of the event are not guaranteed.

Food Allergies

If you or your guests have food allergies, we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate when notified in advance.

All allergy information must be submitted in writing at least two (2) weeks prior with the subject line:
Food Allergies

Our food is prepared in shared environments and we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contact.

Once food leaves our taco cart or taco bar, we are not responsible for cross-contamination.

Delivery & Timing

Delivery times are estimates and may be affected by traffic or other conditions outside of our control.

LaLa Tacos is not responsible for delays caused by external factors.

Weather Policy

Weather forecasts alone do not qualify for cancellation.

Credits may be offered at our discretion. Refunds are not provided due to weather.

Food Safety & Leftovers

We may leave unused food upon request.

Food that has been exposed to guests or placed on serving tables cannot be left for safety reasons.

Service Fees

An 18%–20% service fee applies to on-site catering.

Gratuity is not required.

Email Communications

By placing an order or using our quote calculator, you agree to receive occasional email communications from LaLa Tacos. You may opt out at any time.

Limitation of Liability

LaLa Tacos is not responsible for delays, interruptions, or issues caused by factors outside of our control, including venue restrictions, guest actions, or external conditions.

False Statements & Reviews

Clients agree not to make false, misleading, or knowingly inaccurate statements regarding LaLa Tacos, its staff, or its services, including but not limited to online reviews or public postings.

LaLa Tacos reserves the right to pursue appropriate remedies for any statements that cause reputational or financial harm, in accordance with applicable law.

Payment Obligation

Due to busy schedules, there may be instances where a remaining balance is not collected prior to service or is overlooked at the time of the event.

Regardless of timing, clients remain legally responsible for payment of the full balance associated with their order.

Any unpaid balances will be subject to collection efforts, and clients agree to be responsible for any reasonable costs incurred in the collection process, including attorney’s fees, where permitted by law.

False Statements & Defamation

Clients agree not to make false, misleading, or knowingly inaccurate statements regarding LaLa Tacos, its staff, or its services, including but not limited to online reviews or public postings.

LaLa Tacos reserves the right to pursue appropriate remedies if false statements cause reputational or financial harm. Any recovery of damages or legal fees shall be subject to applicable law and determined by a court of competent jurisdiction.
