Taco Catering Delivery FAQs
Delivery taco catering can be a simple way to serve a group without on-site cooking or staffing. The key is understanding the delivery window, setup, hot and cold holding, serving equipment and what to do if the meal will not be served immediately.
LaLa Tacos prepares delivery orders in our commercial kitchen, transports the food in professional insulated equipment and provides the delivery setup included with the order. These FAQs explain what happens before, during and after delivery.
Frequently Asked Questions About Taco Catering Delivery
What’s the difference between On-Site, Delivery, and Pickup?
On-Site Catering: Our team comes to your event with the taco cart, prepares and serves the tacos, sets up the taco bar, buffet tables with black linens, chafing equipment, and handles setup and breakdown of our food-service area.
Delivery: We prepare your food, deliver it to your event location, and set up the taco bar. Our team does not stay to serve.
Pickup: We prepare everything for your order and you pick it up from our Temecula location. There is no delivery fee.
You can compare the options and pricing in our Instant Quote Calculator at www.quote.lalatacos.com.
How much is delivery to my city?
Delivery fees vary by location. The best way to get accurate pricing is to build your event in our Instant Quote Calculator at www.quote.lalatacos.com. Once we review your event details, we’ll confirm the applicable delivery fee.
Why isn’t the delivery fee showing on my Instant Quote?
We haven’t calculated the delivery fee for your exact address yet. If you decide to place an order, we’ll confirm the delivery fee before your order is finalized.
Can I pick the food up instead and avoid the delivery fee?
Yes. Pickup is available and there is no delivery fee. Just select Pickup when building your Instant Quote at www.quote.lalatacos.com.
How should I keep delivered taco meat hot before guests eat?
If your delivery arrives before you’re ready to serve, keep the covered aluminum trays in an oven set to about 170°F. Remove them shortly before service, keep them covered until just before serving, and gently mix each protein to redistribute the juices before placing it out for guests.
How should I keep delivered rice and beans hot?
If your delivery arrives before you’re ready to serve, keep the covered aluminum trays in an oven set to about 170°F. Remove them shortly before service and keep them covered until just before your guests are ready to eat.
How should I keep cold toppings chilled after delivery?
That depends on how soon you plan to serve. If there will be a delay, we recommend placing the cold toppings in the refrigerator until shortly before service.
How long should I wait before putting delivered food into chafers?
If you are not serving right away, keep the food covered in the aluminum trays and hold it in an oven at about 170°F. Transfer the trays to your chafers shortly before service and remove the covers only a few moments before your guests are ready to eat.
Can delivery containers go directly into warming chafers?
Yes. If you are using your own chafers, you can place the food trays into them as appropriate. If LaLa Tacos is providing complimentary wire-frame chafers with your delivery, the food should remain in the aluminum trays it arrives in.
Can I reheat delivered taco meat in an oven?
Yes. We recommend using a low oven temperature, around 170°F, and keeping the trays covered while warming.
Can I reheat delivered taco meat in a microwave?
Yes, but we do not recommend it. For better quality and more even heating, we recommend warming the covered trays in an oven instead.
Can a delivery order be divided into two separate sets for two serving times?
Yes. You can divide the delivered food into separate serving periods after it arrives. Our team will place the order in your designated setup area and help organize the delivery when we arrive.
Can you label delivery trays so I know what is in each container?
Yes. We label our delivery trays so you can easily identify what is in each container.
Can dietary-specific delivery items be labeled separately?
We label containers by the item inside. We do not create separate dietary or allergy labels.
Can a pickup order be divided into hot and cold packages?
Yes. Hot and cold items are always packaged separately. Each item in your order is placed in its own appropriate container.
Can you label all of the containers in a pickup order?
Yes. We label the containers in pickup orders so you can easily identify each item.
